After recovering, the series returned to production
Chronology
A retired CIA agent is haunted by both the agency he once worked for and his own nightmares when an unknown man suddenly visits him after nearly three decades. Production was halted in March 2020 due to government restrictions. During this time, Jeff Bridges was diagnosed and then treated for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Season 1 was great
Bridges referred to the return as coming back after a "long weekend" on podcast in July 2022. Featured at the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards (2024). This will be a short review.
It keeps you completely glued to see what happens next
Actually the first episodes were just epic, Jeff Bridges is great. A good backstory and he actually kicks ass, which less let’s face it is what we want to see from this so called Old Man. Well, I know it’s what I wanted to see anyway.
Very disappointing so far
It also delivered, unfortunately, season 2 started as a completely different show, slow, boring, bad story, I would almost say, bad acting from Lithgow. It’s just everywhere really the opposite of everything that was great about season 1. Seems like they should have just made a miniseries and left it at that.
